Sun Palace Cancun – A Peaceful Getaway for Couples

We just got back from a stay at Sun Palace in Cancun, and I wanted to share a little about our experience. It’s an adults-only, all-inclusive resort, and while it’s on the smaller side, it’s absolutely beautiful and perfect for couples looking to relax.

The beach is swimmable, which is a must for a must for many, and the infinity pool sits right off the beach with a swim-up bar—definitely a favorite spot during the day. The service was great all around, and we felt really taken care of.

One of the highlights was dinner at Thai. Everything we ordered was amazing, and we were kicking ourselves for not trying it earlier in the trip—we only made it there on our last night!

My favorite part of each morning was grabbing a coffee from Sweet & Coffee and heading out to a lounge chair with my Bible. It was so peaceful and the perfect way to start the day.

A Few Things to Know

If you’re someone who likes a big resort with lots of space to walk, this might not be the best fit. We love getting a long walk in early in the day, but the resort is pretty compact and the beach sand is soft—not great for walking. So we ended up relaxing more than usual, which wasn’t a bad thing!

The pools are smaller, too. There are two—one is more laid back, and the other has the swim-up bar and a few activities. It worked fine for us, but if you’re looking for a big pool scene, just something to keep in mind.

We stayed in Room 600 at Sun Palace Cancun—a corner room with a restricted ocean view, but a huge balcony that made up for it! The room was beautifully designed, with a large jacuzzi tub right inside and all the comforts you’d want. For being one of the entry-level rooms, we were seriously impressed with the space and quality. It felt luxurious without the high price tag.

Thinking About a Honeymoon or Destination Wedding?

Sun Palace is a great option for couples celebrating something special. If you’re planning a honeymoon, they offer some sweet perks like: a sparkling bottle of wine, romantic dinner for two, breakfast in bed and late check-out (if available).

The rooms are super romantic, with ocean views and double whirlpool tubs, and the whole vibe of the resort is quiet and intimate.

For those thinking about a destination wedding, Sun Palace has several beautiful venues: North Beach and Caribbean Terrace, the Ballroom, and Tratto Terrace for something a bit more scenic and cozy.

They offer different wedding packages depending on your guest count and budget, from a complimentary package for up to 30 guests, all the way up to a Luxe package for 75 guests. You also get perks like wedding credits, free rooms, and help from a dedicated wedding specialist.

Final Thoughts

We really enjoyed our time at Sun Palace. It’s perfect for couples who want a peaceful, romantic getaway without the hustle and bustle of a huge resort. Whether you’re planning a honeymoon, a destination wedding, or just a relaxing vacation, it’s definitely worth considering.

Dinner at Trattoria was such a treat—cozy atmosphere, great food, and just steps from the beach.

The Bar

This spacious bar at Sun Palace comes alive at night with live music, pool tables, and plenty of room to hang out. It’s the perfect spot to unwind after a beach day or grab a drink before dinner.

Sweet & Coffee

Sweet & Coffee is tucked off to the side of the lobby, just steps from the pool, beach, and buffet. It’s the perfect spot to grab a morning coffee or afternoon treat before heading out to relax.

Destination

Fuego is a casual outdoor spot at Sun Palace where you can grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner with ocean breezes and laid-back vibes. Great for a quick bite or a relaxed meal just steps from the beach.
